Spotify first rolled out its Apple Watch app in late 2018 with a promise that offline playback for music and podcasts along with direct cellular streaming would be coming in future updates, but. AirPods pair seamlessly with an iPhone or a Apple Watch, but it's a bit trickier to pair with a Mac. Here's how: Tap the Apple icon on the top-left of the screen on your Mac. AirPods and Spotify. I was under the impression that the AirPods would only work with the Apple Music app for using Siri to play/pause or skip songs. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Siri works fine with Spotify. It's not as if they come with a pause button. AirPods and AirPods Pro bring excellent music, but until their battery runs out, there's no apparent way to stop the audio playing. There are, however. AirPods Pro are sweat and water resistant for non-water sports and exercise. AirPods Pro were tested under controlled laboratory conditions, and have a rating of IPX4 under IEC standard 60529. Sweat and water resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear.
Greetings lilyfromeverett, Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities! I understand your AirPods aren't pausing when you take them out of your ears as expected.
The following support article provides helpful information for using AirPods:

Turn Automatic Ear Detection on or off
By default, AirPods sense when they're in your ear and receive the audio from your device. AirPods also pause and resume playback when you remove one of your AirPods, or stop playback—and won't resume—when you remove both. When you have Automatic Ear Detection on and you're not wearing your AirPods, audio plays through your device's speakers.
When you turn off Automatic Ear Detection, these features are off and all audio plays to your AirPods whether or not you're wearing them.
Let me know how the provided suggestion works for you.
Kind regards.

Find that your Apple AirPods keep disconnecting for no apparent reason?
Then you’re not alone. The central theme between the many solutions on this issue suggests that the AirPods’ connection problems have long plagued users ever since they were launched.

This guide is written step-by-step to help you fix your AirPods disconnecting repeatedly.Whether you’re making a call, listening to some music or even catching a Netflix show and your AirPods got disconnected, this guide is written with all the working methods that there is to fix this long-standing issue.
The methods below are some which have worked personally for me as well as some that have proven to work for our readers as well.
So take a deep breath. We can fix this. ?
How to Fix AirPods Keep Disconnecting: 11 Ways
1. It’s Important To Check Your AirPods’ Battery. ⚡
The very first thing that you should do, if you find your AirPods keep getting disconnected, is to make sure your AirPods’ battery is charged.
One of the mistakes that I often find myself do is I expect that since my AirPods are left in the charging case, I assume the AirPods will be charged. However, this can be overlooked by the fact that the charging case itself could be out of charge too.
You can check both your AirPods’ and the AirPods’ case charge status on your iPhone or iPad:
1.Grab your AirPods case and place your AirPods inside the case. Keep the lid open and hold your case close beside your device.
2.You should find a little pop up open on your iPhone or iPad that shows the level of the battery of both the case and your AirPods (as shown in the image below).
3. If the battery is too low for both the AirPods and the case, then consider placing your AirPods back into its case and plug in the charging cable to your case to have it charged.
Help! I don’t see any pop up appear on my iPhone (or iPad). What can I do?
You can also check your AirPods’ charge in your Batteries widget on your iPhone (or iPad) by swiping right from your homepage to access the Widgets section. From the widget section, scroll down and look for the Batteries widget. If you don’t see the widget, just hit the Edit button (at the very bottom) and then add the Batteries widget, which definitely should be on the list.
If your AirPods are low on charge, try charging your AirPods and then test to connect once again.
However, if your AirPods have sufficient charge and it still disconnects, keep reading to find out what else you can try.
2. Checking your Bluetooth.
The second crucial aspect is to make sure that Bluetooth is turned on your device when you are using it with the AirPods.
We’ve written a comprehensive guide on how you can check to make sure if Bluetooth is working correctly on your iPhone. The guide can apply to iPad users too. ?
One of the methods that were in the guide is to restart Bluetooth.
If you’re on an iPhone or an iPad
- Go into your Settings app and then tap on Bluetooth.
- Next, toggle the Bluetooth switch off and back on again. It’s best if you wait at least 10-15 seconds before you enable the Bluetooth on your device for it properly turn off and reconnect back.
- Great, once you’re Bluetooth is turned on, place your AirPods in the case with the lid open. The AirPods will appear as “Jake’s AirPods” under My Devices. It will appear as Not Connected, so you will need to tap on it to connect with your iPhone or iPad.
If you’re on a Mac
- Firstly, open the lid with your AirPods inside the case.
- Next, click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar on your Mac.
- Now hover the pointer over your AirPods with charging case on the menu.
Once you’re done connecting your AirPods you can try to test by playing a video to see if the disconnect issue persists.
3. The Method That Always Works.
Resetting your AirPods has managed to solve the problem for a number of our readers and not to mention this is what managed to fix the AirPods personally for us.
Here’s how you do it:
- Go ahead put your AirPods back into their case, shut the lid and then wait for about 30 seconds.
- If you’re using your iPhone or iPad to connect your AirPods, make sure to go into your Settings > Bluetooth and tap on the i icon next to your AirPods. Then tap on Forget This Device and tap to Confirm. You will need this before you go ahead reset the AirPods.
- Now open up the lid and don’t take the AirPods out. You should see a pairing button on the back of the case (as shown below). Press and hold down on the button for about 15 seconds.
- You should see that the light will go from pulsating white to amber. This indicates now that your AirPods are done with the resetting. This works even if the AirPods aren’t really yours.
- To reconnect the AirPods back to your device, simply hold your AirPods (with them inside the case) close to your device beside your device (iPhone, iPad, Mac) and make sure you have Bluetooth turned on. From there on, simply tap on the Connect button to proceed with the pairing. Your AirPods should be able to work now without disconnecting repeatedly, of course also making sure that they’re fully charged.
4.Clean your AirPods.
In our numerous guides and articles https://ymjykfb.weebly.com/can-you-listen-to-free-spotify-without-wifi.html. regarding the AirPods or even the AirPods Pro, we advocate that it is important to maintain a routine cleaning process for your AirPods to maintain it in the long run.
One great way to clean your AirPods is to use specially crafted AirPods buds to clean the speaker grills as well as crevices.
Once you use the buds, you can then use a microfiber cloth that is designed to clean devices to wipe up away the dust and debris. Alternatively, if you do not have these specially crafted AirPods buds, you can also use a soft toothbrush and gently brush the speaker grills. Again grab a clean microfiber cloth and wipe it every time you brush it.
One great microfiber cloth that is available is the AmazonBasics Blue and Yellow Microfiber Cleaning Cloth, 24-Pack.
Note
You may try to lightly damp the cloth or the cotton swab with water or alcohol and then proceed to wipe it. Just make sure that you do not overly use water or alcohol on it. The speakers are delicate and having any excessive form of liquid near that end is just going to make things worse.

On the side note, using any other form of cleaning methods such as tissue paper, a safety pin, or a bath towel or a vacuum cleaner is only going to bring demise.
5. Making Sure Your AirPods Are Selected As The Audio Device.
One other setting to check on your device is to make sure that your AirPods are selected as the primary audio device.
This may happen automatically without you knowing because the AirPods are designed to identify automatically as soon as they are in your ears.
So let’s make sure that the AirPods are properly working:
1.Go ahead open up any of your music playing apps like Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora on your device and then select the AirPlay icon. It’s the one that appears right below the track you’re listening to.
2.Now, select your AirPods from the list of audio options.
If you’re not listening to music, you can also do this when you’re on a call, by selecting your AirPods from the audio options on your screen when you make the call. You can usually change the audio source by tapping on the speaker icon whilst you’re on a call.
If you do not see this option or icon, comment down below to let me know more about it, so that we can guide you. ?
6. Using Just One Of Your AirPods First.
This method may not be the cup of tea for everyone, but for some especially if your AirPods are crucial and are the only pair of earphones you have then this is a kick that should get it to work. Rupee font free download for mac.

Here’s how you can do it:
- With your AirPods case open, jump into your Settings app and then tap on Bluetooth (on iOS).
- Next, tap the little i icon next to your AirPods and then select Microphone from the list of options.
- Now you should find that the setting is set to Automatic, meaning both your AirPods are providing microphone capabilities for you. You can tweak this and make it so that you can just use either your left AirPod or your right AirPod by selecting either Always Left AirPod or Always Right AirPod.
7. Disable the Automatic Ear Detection Setting.
You know how your AirPods automatically detect when they’re in your ears? Spotify dl mac.
Yeah, there’s a setting for it, and you can try testing by turning it off so that it manually detects properly and not get messed up on its own.

- Next, tap on the little i icon beside your AirPods and then switch off the Automatic Ear Detection setting.
You can once again try testing to see if the AirPods keep getting disconnected.
8. Unpair All Your Devices and Pair When Necessary.
Personally, I have known some people who collect Apple devices like they’re just collecting freaking stamps.
They have the whole lineup: Apple Watches, iPads to even the HomePod.
It’s cool to have all the devices seamlessly connected making it an Apple’s ecosystem, however at times connecting too many devices via Bluetooth can cause conflict which can put the AirPods into a situation of confusion where it doesn’t know which device to establish the connection with.
So if you have a HomePod or an Apple Watch or any other device connected with the AirPods, then try to unpair them and see if that makes a difference. Then try to pair the AirPods with the device is necessary.
Let us know down below if this works for you. ?
9. AirPods Getting Disconnected On Your Mac? Then Do this.
Import itunes playlist to spotify mac. If you find the AirPods got disconnected with your Mac, then do the following steps to check:
1.Open up your System Preferences on your Mac and then go to Sound.
2.Now under the Output tab, do you see your AirPods? If you see them choose your AirPods. If you do not see them, go through the above methods and try to test and pinpoint whether the problem lies without AirPods
3.Lastly, do the same under the Input tab as well.
This should set the AirPods on your Mac so that it completely syncs up.
10. AirPods Getting Disconnected from Apple Watch? Then Do this.
Likewise, if you’re trying to connect your AirPods to your Apple Watch but you still find that it keeps getting disconnected then try restarting the Apple Watch and then make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your Apple Watch by heading into your Apple Watch Settings > Bluetooth.
Airpod Mac App
Once you’ve made sure to enable Bluetooth on your Apple Watch simply follow the steps in Method 3 (above) to repair the AirPods again to the Apple Watch. This should effectively repair the connection of the AirPods with your Apple Watch and begin the process of connection.
11. Reach Out to Apple.
If none of the above methods worked, then you can try to visit your nearest Apple Store to see if you can have your AirPods checked for any faulty. You can also check if your AirPods are covered under any warranty here:
Consecutively, if Apple doesn’t do s*** to help you and asks you to cough up more money, then you can go for some cheaper AirPods over at Amazon which usually goes on sale every now and then.
